DCMR

Today we asked the DCMR (Climate and Environment Desk Rijnmond) for the flaring permits they issued to business in Rijnmond (literally Rhine Mouth). Rijnmond is the conurbation surrounding the city of Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

The DCMR works at the request of local and regional authorities, and aims for a liveable and safe region for the people who live and work there. By imposing environmental and safety rules and monitoring compliance at approximately 25,000 businesses, ranging from refineries to pubs on the corner, the DCMR helps businesses develop and maintain a healthy and safe environment.

We will use the DCMR data to compare the issued permits with the known Zero Routine Flaring incidents as monitored by us since the beginning of 2020.
